Hi everyone, my name is Massimo IU1IAZ and I live in Genoa (in the north side of Italy). I got my Ham Radio license on jan 2017, but only recently I had my very first radio for HF band (a used FT-817).
Regarding HF band, at the moment I built a random wire antenna and recently I'm finishing a Mag Loop antenna 1m diameter wide.
Hoping from hear to you all on the air... a big Ciao from Italy. Massimo.

Dear all, please let me show you my homemade Magnetic Loop Antenna! I'm still waiting for some more components, but it work equally. 1m diameter Air Variable Capacitor, twice capacitance in series 382pF & 328pF Airborne 10 coax I took this picture today (bad weather...) Up to now the greatest distance (always in QRP) reached is 2290km (Russian Fed) and 2050Km (Finland) I'm very happy. 73 IU1IAZ.

Yes, i had several contact. The mag loop is also the only antenna I can use in my apartment.
The longest path was up to 2290km and 2050km in 20m band (Moscow and Helsinki).
On the 40m band is more difficult due to the less efficiency, so that the longest path in this band was 780km (Germany and Belgium).
As you see, is a portable setup where:
whole loop = 0.735 Kg
tripod = 0.15Kg
selfie stick (the rod between the capacitor and inner loop) = 0.15 Kg
1.6Kg total
As we know in the backpack there are a lot of other thinghs (radio, coax, ropes, water...), so at the end I measured a bit less of 4Kg.
never mind, is something like FitnessHamRadio.
I hope to contact you in the future.
73 - IU1IAZ Massimo
