Hi to all, what do you think about a Telegram Group? (is better than Whatsapp where the mobile numer is showed... Telegram gives you more privacy)
I think would be usefull to try (to coordinate) a contact between us and our MagLoop Antennas.
Have a nice WeekEnd. IU1IAZ - Massimo

Hello Massimo. What is Telegram? Is it some kind of application or social network?

Telegram is a smartphone application very close to Whatsapp. play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.telegram.messenger&hl=enLike Whatsapp you can create groups. When a group is created, all Telegram users can subscribe that group (a group is a new channel open to all). For subscribing the new channel you have to know the name (that start with a "@" something like @hamradio...) All the subscribers does not have the ability to know the mobile number of each other component of the group. 73 Massimo.

I guess a Hangouts may be a good application too. Many of HAM's uses a Gmail ;-) There is also possibility to create a group.

I am very facinated with Mag loop antennas. I already bought a qrp mag loop antenna...that does 6 meter to 40 meter...however, I want to build one that covers 80 to 160 meters. Space is a problem at my QTH. Are mag loops only for QRP use? I want to use 100 watts . What would be the differences between a qrp mag loop antenna and a 100 watt mag loop antenna? .............Thanks Greg KF5OAS (Texas, USA)

Is nice to meet you here in this forum ;-) The main difference between QRP and 100W version of the MLA is in capacitor - exactly on the space between its plates. WIth bigger space grows also a size of the capacitor. This is the main part of the MLA's. Loops and whole construction is not so different. MLA for 160M is not a good idea, even for 80M band it must be very big. The theory says that MLA should be 1/10th of a wavelength circumference of working band. You can still use 2 or 3 turns of 3m diameter but efficiency will be still not so good as of the common wire antenna. And probably you will need to buy a vacuum capacitor for more capacity and more voltage. 73, Paul OM0ET

Telegram is a good use of back and forth communications ... I belong to a DMR group and it has helped a lot of people get quick answers to their questions. It supports posting to a group and also to individual users.
It has both phone and Windows applications. Forums like this one has advantages with format and looking up topics and topic categories, and Telegram is good to ongoing back and forth communications.
BTW, it is nice to see another forum on ham radio.
